Can’t find it?

SWAN Consortium

Messenger Public Library shares materials with over 100+ area libraries through the SWAN consortium. Search the catalog to find an item, then select “Place a Hold” to request it. Once your item arrives, we’ll notify you, and hold it for seven days. Materials borrowed from any library in the SWAN consortium can be returned to any library in the SWAN consortium. Local SWAN member libraries include Batavia, Geneva, St. Charles, Sugar Grove, and Warrenville.

Download the app! The SWAN Libraries + app is free to all patrons and available for iOS and Android.

Reciprocal borrowing

If an item is not available and you need it right away, check with one of our neighboring reciprocal borrowing libraries. While Messenger does not share a SWAN catalog with these libraries, patrons are still able to use shared materials. You will just need to register your library card with each library before checking out. Please return all materials to the loaning library.

Interlibrary Loan Service

North Aurora residents can use our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Service to request materials from other Illinois and out-of-state libraries (WorldCat). Renewals and loan periods are set by the lending library. Residents that live outside of North Aurora can visit their home library to use this service. All materials should be returned to Messenger.
